This is the Tone-Clamp II Compressor. This compressor is based off of the "ross" circuit but with several improvements. To start with, this pedal has a massive amount of power filtering built into the pedal......that along with high grade metal film caps, and metal film resistors throughout, helps to reduce the noise that is typical with that type of circuit. Next, the goal with this pedal was to create a much more transparent tone with a much wider frequency response, rather than sounding so dull and squishy.....while still maintaining lots of actuall compression and sustain. A couple of features help accomplish this, the first is the clean blend circuit which runs parallel to the compression circuit. Using the blend control allows mixing the two circuits to get just the right amount of sustain and compression, while letting your natural guitar tone to come through. Changes have also been made to the compression circuit itself to boost highs and lows which typically get lost in compression. Another feature of the Tone-Clamp is the Attack conrol, which changes the speed that the compression is applied to the played note. Increasing this creates a sharper, more percusive attack to each note played.
